Maine AHPERD Extends Search for an Executive Director The Maine Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (Maine AHPERD) is a non-profit organization seeking a part-time Executive Director. The Executive Director facilitates the work of the Maine AHPERD Board of Directors and works under their direction. Representing professionals and future professionals in related fields of health, physical education, recreation and dance from across Maine. The Mission of the organization is to improve the quality of life for all Mainers by supporting and promoting effective educational practices, quality curriculum, instruction, and assessment in the areas of health, physical education, recreation, dance, and related fields. Maine AHPERD strives to build partnerships with entities passionate about health, physical education, recreation and dance; provides quality professional development; facilitates communication on behalf of Maine AHPERD; and provides leadership and advocacy for health, physical education, recreation and dance at the local, regional, state, and national levels. The National Academy of Health and Physical Literacy is a diverse organization that seeks to advance health and physical literacy in our society, especially in K-12 schools, higher education, and in dance and sport venues. NAHPL seeks to grow and advance professional leaders who will interact and network on regional, national and global levels to expand health and physical literacy opportunities for all children and adults.
