The 75th Annual Maine AHPERD in person conference has been cancelled as of June 10, 2020.

It is truly with a heavy heart that the Maine Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance have decided to cancel our in-person/on-site conference at the Samoset for November 2020. This has been one of the most difficult decisions we have ever had to make as an organization. Although we tried hard, we saw that we could not offer the onsite experience you have come to expect, while still meeting appropriate safety guidelines. At this time, we can’t justify keeping the Samoset, our members, our sponsors, our presenters, our exhibitors and others in limbo, hoping these barriers will be solved by November.

We know this is very disappointing to hear. We share in this disappointment and will miss the energy and enthusiasm that we get from our annual gathering at MAHPERD.    We will have more information for you this summer about what we will be offering. Be assured that MAHPERD will be front and center for our members.  It will just look a little different

Please check the web site during the summer to find out how we will celebrate MAHPERD's 75th anniversary.

Developing physically literate and health literate students
is more important than eve

As schools prepare to create a new model for learning in the fall, finding new ways to support students’ physical, mental, and social and emotional health is paramount. Schools must offer physical education and health education as part of a well-rounded education for all students during COVID-19, regardless of whether they will be providing in-school learning, distance learning, or using a hybrid learning approach.
